Inder Randhawa is a proud mother of three, a wife, a women’s advocate, an entrepreneur and an investor with extensive experience in business operations in Telecommunications, CleanTech and Real Estate. Inder combines her operations and customer service experience with a passion for community service and an emphasis on south Asian women’s issues.
Inder is a partner at Stratagem Innovation Capital Partners and is responsible for Canadian operations and overseeing SIC.Labs, providing coaching, mentoring and acceleration tools to develop and extend innovation. Inder is also responsible for SIC.Lab’s enhanced curriculum dedicated to empowering the South Asian Sikh community with an emphasis on women in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. Through this work Inder ensures SIC.Partners is sharply focused on empowering innovators through hands-on guidance utilizing our Rapid Acceleration Methodology (RAM).
Inder was born in the UK and raised in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia as part of an immigrant family working hard to survive financially. The oldest of four children, Inder took on many of the responsibilities of caring for the family’s wellbeing. From an early age this taught her the value of hard work and family, and helped to form a foundation that that has served her well in community leadership and in business.
Over the past 20 years as a way of giving back to her community, Inder has taken into her home for extended periods up to 2 years, troubled Sikh women who were either escaping abusive households or needed mentoring and life skills. She also continues her community enrichment work through active participation in community affairs dedicated to women’s issues that affect every age group.
Inder has nearly 30 years of experience in managing businesses with a strong emphasis on operations and customer service. She has appeared on various local Indo-Canadian TV and Punjabi radio programs representing industry ethnic community outreach campaigns and accurately translating campaign strategies into Punjabi marketing communications.
- From 2010 to 2015 Inder was the Vice President, Real Estate Operations for the Kundan Corporation, responsible for all Fraser Valley-based Real Estate Operations, including property management of rental housing and design & construction of new developments, and a member of the investment committee participating in the evaluation of investment opportunities.
- From 2004 to 2010 Inder was Vice President, Finance and Operations for a hazardous waste disposal start-up, managing the company’s operations through its maturity to a successful exit. She managed the P&L, including capital expenditures, oversaw business development including the sales pipeline, proposals and contracts, and oversaw relationship management between customers and chemists, technical issue escalation, and problem resolution.
- From 2000 to 2004 Inder was a stay-at-home-mom dedicating her time and energy to raising her 3 children, where she developed a passion for family nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, and a commitment to helping troubled Sikh women which continues to this day.
- From 1992 to 1999 Inder held management positions with Telus and Rogers, including leading multi-lingual customer service desks catering to the specific needs of Indo-Canadian and Chinese-speaking consumer segments, utilizing thoughtful consumer education, billing and technical assistance processes against performance management targets, as well as spearheading and implementing sales and Customer Service effectiveness initiatives leveraging sales techniques which successfully increased long distance market share.
Inder earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, majoring in Marketing from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
